Kempton Park is a big city in South Africa, situated in the Gauteng province. The name comes from the same name German town Kempton. Kemton Park is situated in the northeast part of Witwatersrand mountain area. The nearest cities are Johannesburg, Germiston, Benoni and Tembisa. In XIX century Dutchman Karl Friedrich Wolf bought the farm “The pure spring” (Zuurfontein ) and from this moment nearby lands started to grow roots and eventually turned into a settlement with the name of the town from which the Dutchman came. Only in 1992 Kempton Park received the status of the city. Today chemical industry is well developed here.
