They were all built between the 13th and 15th centuries. The Olive-Tree Mosque is the oldest and the biggest in the city. The New City was founded by the French in the end of the 19th century. Although administrative, business and residential areas are situated here, the New City might also be an interesting place for sightseeing. The National Museum of Bardo is the biggest in the Northern Africa and has an outstanding collection of Roman mosaic. Some sights like the pleasant seaside town of Sidi Bou Said and the ruins of the famous Cathage are located outside Tunis.
