Many people say that if you once visit Tokyo than London, Paris and even New York will appear empty cities. Statistics speaks for itself: 13 million people live on the area of 2100 square meters, in daytime population increases for 2,5 million more for account of workers and students coming from suburbs. Tokyo always was the city of world level. It was found in XVI century and became one of the biggest world cities by XVIII century. After powerful earthquake of 1923 and bombings of World War II Tokyo rehabilitated itself very quickly and became the incarnation of economical miracle that brought Japan economic to the level of USA. By nineties Tokyo was named on of the fastest growing cities of the planet side by side with New York and London and also the center of fashion and cultural life not only of Japan but of the whole Asia. Except business structures and industry, tourism is also important income item. Tokyo is sixth in the world for the amount of coming tourists after London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore. In the beginning cit and its endless bustle can disappoint. After disasters of XX century Tokyo doesn’t have many historic monuments and that classic Japan that tourists unconsciously desire to see. Tokyo is completely oriented on XXI century and this where it’s charm is hidden. Traditions undoubtedly have been preserved but they are not on the surface and not flaring, they are hidden in the details of Japanese everyday life. Tokyo can be explored by days. Except dozens of interesting museums, theme parks and other tourist attractions Tokyo is full of life during the night, especially in the Roppongi district.

Climate

In winter temperature usually doesn’t fall under 0C, precipitations are light. Average temperature of the coldest month January is -5C. Spring is quite warm and sunny. Summer is humid and hot (25-30C). August is the hottest month, temperature can reach 37C. Most precipitations occur from June to September.

Transport

The main public transport in Tokyo is railroad network that includes intercity lines and city metro. All together they have 70 lines, so this is the biggest railroad network in the world. Metro itself is the 4th in extent and 1st in passenger traffic. Tokyo has 7 railway stations: Akihabara, Ikebukuro, Shibuya, Shinagawa, Shinjuku, Tokio y Ueno, they all are linked with each other and with metro line Yamanote. From Tokyo station high-speed trains Shinkansen run in destinations Tokaido, Tohoku, Joetsu, Nagano, Yamagata, and Akita. Majority of bus stations are situated on the territory of metro or railway stations. Bus network connects Tokyo with all big cities of the country and with all cities of the region. Tokyo has 2 airports. Narita International airport is situated in the nearby prefecture Chiba and connected with Tokyo by Narita Express train. Tokyo International Airport (or Haneda Airport) provides less international flights but more domestic.
