Description:

Pattaya is a popular tourist destination, a city on the southeast coast of the Gulf of Thailand. There are almost no remarkable historic sights in the town, but it has everything for those whi came there for a rest. Not far from Pattaya there are elephant, crocodile and tiger farms, which always organise curious entertaining performances. Also, the city is famous for a tropical garden of Madame Nong Nooch with an amazing orchid park. But despite the fact that the authorities are striving to promote a family holiday, Pattaya is famous primarily for its nightlife, which boils here regularly and attracts thousands of sex tourists to one of the main streets of the city - Walking Street.

Climate

The climate of Pattaya is tropical , with hot and sunny days all year round. They distinguish the hot season (from May to March), the rainy season (from May to October) and dry season which lasts from November to February.

Transport

U-TAPAO Airport is located 30 km. south of the city -but it serves a small number of flights, and the nearest major Suvarnabhumi airport is in Bangkok, 1.5 hours drive from Pattaya. The city itself, whose central part with all entertainments occupies about 3 km. of coastline, is easy to explore on foot. For longer distances you can take advantage of ubiquitous low-cost taxi, motorcycle taxi, and the famous songthaews- trucks converted into buses.
