HUA HIN

Description:

Hua Hin is a Thai beach resort, located only 200 km. from Bangkok. It is very popular especially among the Thais, seeking to escape from bustling rhythm of the capital. Hua Hin became known after king Prajadhipok visited it first time in 1920 and later built his own residence here, which is still working. Since that time, this beachfront resort has become synonymous with the rest of the nobility, and a good choice for a relaxing family vacation. The beach itself is bordered by two capes and is broken in the middle by the hill of Khao Takiab, which offers views of the local beauties and many Buddhist temples in the area.

Climate

The Climate of Hua Hin is tropical with high humidity. The rainy season here lasts from June to October, but rains are are intermittent, so do not be afraid of constant rains, threatening a good rest.

Transport

Hua Hin can be reached by train from Bangkok just for 100 bahts, but the road will take much longer of the due time. The easiest way to get there is by bus. The road will take about 3 hours costing 200 bahts. Public transport is represented by traditional songthaews (small trucks, converted into buses), the tuk-tuks, motorcycle and bicycle taxis. Since Western tourists are usually asked to overpay, it is worth to discuss in advance the cost of the trip.
