Description:

Ko Phangan is an island in the Gulf of Thailand in the central southern coast of Thailand. It is located halfway between the islands of Ko Samui and Ko Tao and its population is only 11 000 inhabitants. Ko Phangan is popular for white sandy beaches and monthly "full moon parties". During these parties with the rhythms of modern music (mostly trance, electro), heard from all the bars of Haad Rin beach, people meet the full moon, which is considered to be particularly beautiful there.

Climate

The best time to visit the island is from December to March and from July to August. At other time you can get into the dry season, during which it becomes almost impossible to swim at most beaches besides the Bottle beach and some remote places in the eastern part of the island.

Transport

The nearest airports are located in Koh Samui and Surat Thani. As well as Ko Tao, they are easily accessible by regular boats.
