Description:

Ko Samui is an island city of Thai province of Surat Thani lying on the coast of the Gulf of Thailand. It has gained huge popularity since the 1990s for its unique beaches with white coral sand, waterfalls and paradisiacal island scenery. Tourists come here mainly for relaxing beach holidays, which are supported by everything on the island. The main town is surrounded by dozens of small islands which formed a National Marine Park of Ang Thong, hitting travelers with its wild nature and the beauty of almost pristine rainforest zones. Also the island has its own unique Aquarium and Tiger Park.

The central part of the island is unpopulated area, covered with tropical forest, surrounded by 52km. long highway ring permitting to get to any tip of Ko Samui. Also the island has its own international airport from which flights are carried out to Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Phuket and Kuala Lumpur. There are several ferry services connecting sumui to the mainland. Inside the city the widespread means of transport are taxi, motorcycles and so-called Songthaew-trucks, converted into buses.
