Indian city Amritsar was found in 1547 on the shore of the artificial lake Amrita-saras (this means “lake of immortality”). According to an old legend, Buddha himself walked along the lake shore, and it is considered that after swimming in this lake you can get immortality. In Amritsar is well developed the production of textile, carpets and also metal, ivory and leather items. Amritsar symbol is the sacred place Harmandir temple, or “The golden temple”, the dome is made of pure gold and the walls are decorated with marble. The age of this structure is no less than 400 years. Marble bridge connects Golden temple with the lake, it symbolizes human path after death. In addition, in Amritsar there is also a Silver temple. It was built in honor of the goddess Durga.
