JODHPUR

Description:

Jodhpur is one of the biggest Indian cities, it is situated in the Thar Desert. Residents are used to call Jodhpur “sun city” as sun shines here the whole year and “blue city” as the majority of buildings has blue color. Jodhpur attracts tourists by gorgeous palaces and numerous temples. Historic center is surrounded by old city wall. While staying in Jodhpur visit the fortress Meherangarh, one of the most beautiful palaces in India Umaid Bhawan and princely tombs Jaswant Thada. The city lives first of all at the expense of handicraft and tourist industry development. Also Jodhpur is famous for perfect red pepper Mathania.

Climate

Climate is dry and hot that is usual for a desert. The best way to come to Jodhpur is from March to October. Summer temperature can reach 42C and in winter it usually doesn’t fall under 15C.

Transport

You can reach Jodhpur by train or by plane. Jodhpur Airport is considered to be the most famous in Western India.
