Description:
A small town in the north of India with a population around 30 thousand people. Manali was founded as a starting point of an ancient trade route. The town and its surroundings are the important object of Indian culture and religion. Manali today plays a big role as a main point on the way to the Indian or Small Tibet. It’s a mountain resort with numerous hotels, cafes, recreation areas and a well-developed infrastructure. Manali makes up to one-fourth of the Himalayan tourism.
Climate
Manali is considered to be ideal for travelling at any season. There’s no heat typical for other Indian cities. The highest temperature during the year fluctuates around 30°С, it seldom goes higher than +20°С in summer and can get as low as -7°С in winter. Heavy snow occurs in January and February.Transport
The railway connection is not well-developed, that’s why it’s better to get to the town by car. One can get to Manali from many major cities including Delhi via highways NH-21 и NH 1. One can fly here too: there are daily flights from the capital, the airport is located 50 km from the town.
