UBUD
Description:
Ubud is a town in the middle of Indonesian island Bali. It is considered to be the cultural capital of the island. Special climate and colour reigns there as the half of the city consists of handicraft shops and small temples among the palm trees. Ubud consists of 14 villages or districts. It’s history dates back to VIII century when one of Buddhist monks came here from Java island. Since that time temples, sanctuaries and monasteries were constructed here, the most interesting among them are Gunung Kawi, Goa Gajah, Pura Kehen and some other. In the Tirta Empul temple you can have a termal bath and clear yourself spiritually and physically. Visit Ubud museums and admire unforgettable landscapes: boundless rice fields, villages and small huts. Ubud market is also very colourful, you can buy almost everything here.
Climate
Climate is tropical monsoon. Temperatures are lower that on the coast as Ubud is situated on the height of 600 m above sea level. Don’t forget to taje sweater with you as evenings are fresh. Rain season lasts from October to June.Transport
The nearest airport is Ngurah Rai International Airport. You can get around the town by bus or “bemo” – local micro buses.
