Description:
Sarajevo is the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the administrative center of the Sarajevo Canton. Until the 16th century the city was called Vrhbosna and only in 1507 was renamed in Sarajevo. Located in the Sarajevo valley at an altitude of 500 meters above sea level and is surrounded by mountains. There are a lot of industrial enterprises, as well as the Art Gallery, the University, the Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even the Academy of Arts and Sciences. One of the symbols of Sarajevo is a river Milyatska, which flows through the city and empties into Bosna. The city has a rich history, but was repeatedly destroyed, so the monuments are not well preserved. Among them there are several mosques (the Tsar mosque, the mosque of Al-Pasha) and the old church built in the 15th century. And the buildings which have preserved during the Austrian occupation (Ministry of Finance, Bureau of Government and the National Theatre) are performed in eclectic style.

The city is located in a temperate continental climate with average annual temperature about 9 degrees Celsius. The climate is favorable for the development of winter sports.Transport
The Trans-European Railway passes through Sarajevo (5C), connecting it with Budapest and Ploce. There are seven tram lines, five trolleybus lines and many bus lines in the city. In the heart of the city is located the train station, not far from it - the bus station. To the south-west of Sarajevo the International Airport Butmir is located.
