Description:

Marienbad used to be one of the most luxurious health resorts in Europe. It was found in XIX century and welcomed European sovereigns (King of England Edward VII was so charmed by the town that returned here for 9 times and even gave money for the construction of the first golf club in the country), famous writers (Goethe wrote here Marienbad Elegy) and composers (Chopin was a frequent visitor of these places, in his honor today international musical festivals are held here). Today Marienbad lives in the shadow of more famous Czech resort Karlovy Vary. But still it is the same first class health resort where you can have calm holidays while walking around charming garden town with summerhouses, pavilions and colonnades far away from the high vanity of its older brother.

From the railway station trains run to Prague via Pilsen and to Cheb and Karlovy Vary. Buses are not as frequent as trains and follow the same routes.
