Description:
Braunschweig is a German city in the Lower Saxony land. With the population of about 240 thousand people this is the second largest city of the land. Braunschweig was found by Saxony count Bruno II. The original name of the city is Brunosweig, it comes from the name of the founder and the word “weig” which means “transshipment point”. Among attractions are St Blaise Cathedral (Dom St. Blasii) built in XII century and sanctified in XIII, nearby bronze lion sculpture (Braunschweiger Löwe), also the modern complex Happy RIZZI House. Braunschweig is a very green city, be sure to walk around the nature reserve (Naturschutzgebiet Riddagshausen) and city parks (Westpark and Prinz-Albrecht-Park).
