CELLE
Description:
Celle is a German city in the Lower Saxony land in the Lunenburg Heath area on the Aller River. The city was first mentioned in documents in 986, the name comes from the word “Kellu” that means “the town on the river”. Historic center of Celle has preserved many medieval structures, some of them are made of wood or bricks. The most famous architectural monument is the Ducal Palace built in 1530. Also worth a visit the city church with white tower and synagogue built in 1740 that endured after the Night of the Long Knives in 1938. Be sure to visit Bomann museum, there you will learn everything about the region history and contemporary art.
