COCHEM
Description:
Cochem is a regional center (Cochem-Zell). It is located in Rhineland-Palatinate on the river Moselle. This town is also a wine-making center. The historical center is the castle of Cochem, a typical example of the style of late Gothic. Castle Cochem is situated at an altitude of 100 meters above the city, it was built in 1020. In written sources castle was first mentioned in 1051. The nature reserve and park Klotten is also noteworthy. Cochem is a town with a surprisingly harmonious landscape. It is worth visiting a chairlift, located downstream of the river Moselle. There are the villages in the vicinity of the town where you can see the historic half-timbered houses.

The airport Cologne / Bonn is located on the distance of 90 km. A little further (about 110 km) there is located the airport Frankfurt (regular shuttle bus ply from there). You can reach the town per motorway A1 / A48, or per high-speed rail line Koblenz, Saarbrücken.
