Essen is situated in the west of Germany, in the Northern Rhine - Westphalia. In 2010 has been officially recognized by cultural capital of Europe. Essen is a large exhibition centre and an important industrial region of Germany, here is situated about 10 percent of leading German concerns. One of the most beautiful landscape parks of Europe is located here; there is also a big variety of museums and cathedrals.
