FULDA
Description:
Fulda is a German city, the 9th largest in the Hesse land. Fulda received its name thanks to the Fulda River on which it stands. It gained the status of a city in 1114. Fulda was also called “the cradle of Catholicism” as there situated one of the most important monasteries of the country – Fulda abbey. Among architectural monuments the most interesting are the church in Romanesque style (Michaelskirche), cathedral Dom St. Salvator zu Fulda (the symbol of the city, it is situated in the Fulda abbey), monastery Kloster Frauenberg, castle Stadtschloss, castle Schloss Fasanerie (it keeps the unique collection of porcelain), Town hall Altes Rathaus and university buildings (Universität Fulda).

Climate is temperate and warm. Winter is quite cool (average January temperature is 0,5C), summer is warm (average July temperature is 17C).Transport
Fulda is the starting point for omnibuses in the direction to Rur and Folksburg. Fulda has the railway station (Bahnhof Fulda).
