Description:
Ingolstadt is a German city on the Danube River in the Bavaria land. It is the second largest city in the Upper Bavaria. The population is about 125 thousand people. From 1392 to 1447 Ingolstadt was the capital of Bavaria-Ingolstadt dukedom. The oldest university in Bavaria is situated exactly here. It is recommended to visit some of the various Ingolstadt museums, for example, Bavarian military museum located in the New Castle building, First World War museum, German Medical history museum, Ingolstadt museum, Audi Factory museum, Contemporary Art museum, Alf Lechner Museum, Museum-archives of Mary Louisa Fleisser. Among the historic structures the most interesting are the Morizkirche church, Old Castle (XIII century), New Castle (1418), the first Bavarian University Hohe Schule (1472), Lifbrauenmunster cathedral, Asamkirche church (there you can see the famous fresco by Asam brothers) and XIX century castle designed by Leo von Klenze.
