Description:
Kassel is a German city on the Fulda River in the Hesse land. The population is about 200 thousand people. During the Roman times there was situated the castle Castellum Cattorum and it gave name to the town. Kassel received the status of a city in 1189. Dwellers call Kassel “the magic town” or “small Munich” for its outstanding beauty. There are plenty of architectural monuments. Friedrich Square, designed in baroque style, is the main landmark of Kassel. Don’t miss Friedicianim Museum that was built in XVIII century. Every 5 years a famous contemporary art exhibition “Documenta” is held there.
