LINDAU
Description:
Lindau is a German city with the population of about 25 thousand people. It is situated in the Bavaria land on the lake shore (Bоdensee), right in the place where the Leiblach River (natural border between Germany and Austria) flows into the lake. Every summer Lindau organizes meetings with Nobel Prize laureates. The most famous architecture structures are the Cathedral Münster Unserer Lieben Frau (it stands on the place of the older church, dated to 810), the oldest city church Peterskirche or Fischerkirche (it was erected in 1000 in honour of all fishermen), also the entry inti the city port (Hafeneinfahrt) is really picturesque, it is adorned with the lighthouse and the stone lion statue. Don’t miss the Old Town hall (Altes Rathaus), fortifications (Römerschanze) with five-store tower (Mangenturm) that used to serve as a lighthouse.

Climate is continental. Precipitations make 1400 mm a year. The driest month is February, the wettest one is July.Transport
Lindau is the last stop on the railroad line Allgäubahn. Central railway station (Hauptbahnhof in Lindau) is the main on the whole island. Through Lindau pesse the autobahn A96 and highways Bundesstraßen 12 и 31. There are ferries running across the Lake Constance
