OSTSEEBAD BINZ
Description:
Ostseebad Binz is a German commune with the population of about 5,5 thousand people. It is situated in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania land in the western part of the Rügen Island between the bay Prorer Wiek and the lake Schmachter See. Binz is the biggest and the most famous resort of the island. It was first mentioned in the documents in 1318, and in 1830 it has been already considered as Baltic Sea resort town. From XIX century Binz has been developing very fast. Plenty of hotels and restaurants appeared here, the hetwork of road was constructed, in the 1902 the first berth was opened (unfortunately, it hadn’t been preserved till today, in 1994 there appeared a brand new berth). The main attractions are the Haunting Palace (Jagdschloss Granitz), the Park of feelings (Park der Sinne) and the Binz-Museum.

Precipitations are light (about 635 mm a year). The driest month is February and the wettest one is July.Transport
Binz has 2 railway stations (Bahnhof Ostseebad Binz and Bahnhof Binz LB). It is connected with other resorts of the island by bus communication.
