OSTSEEBAD SELLIN

Description:

Ostseebad Sellin is a German commune and Baltic Sea resort with the population of abouy 2500 people. It is situated on the Rügen Island in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania land. From the one side Sellin is washed by Baltic Sea and on the other side by the lake Selliner See. Take a stroll around the street Wilhelmstraße with majestic buildings and plunge into the atmosphere of the past centuries, then go to admire the longest sea quay (Seebrücke Sellin) of the island and eventually walk along the picturesque embankment. Don’t miss to visit Art gallery Galerie Hartwich located in the half-timber house, Bernsteinmuseum and Gnadenkirche church.

Climate

Precipitations are light (about 635 mm a year). The driest month is February and the wettest one is July.

Transport

There is a highway Bundesstraße 196 passing through the city. Also Sellin can be reached by railroad (Schmalspurbahn Rasender Roland). You catch take ferry to one of the Baltic Sea resorts.
