RUHPOLDING
Description:
Ruhpolding is a German commune in the Bavaria land, widely known today as a resort. The name of the commune means “being a guest of famous strongman”. While staying here visit some of the local museums. For example, the Bell Museum (Glockenschmiede), Historic Museum (Heimatmuseum) with the exhibitions devoted to the local everyday life, Woodcutter open air Museum (Holzknechtmuseum Ruhpolding), Motorcycle Museum (Schnauferlstall) with examples from 1924. The most outstanding architectural monuments are churches Pfarrkirche St. Georg, Wallfahrtskirche Maria Schnee in Urschlau and Evangelische Johanneskirche, former Hunting house (замок Jagdschloss) and Town hall.

There isn autobahn Deutsche Alpenstraße B 305 coming through the city. Ruhpolding is the last stop on the railroad line Traunstein-Ruhpolding. From 2008 there is a 366 m tunnel constructed under the settlement.
