SAARBRUCKEN
Description:
Saarbruecken is a German city and the capital of Saarland. It is situated on the west of the country. This is a big industrial center with well developed metallurgical, optomechanical, ceramic, brewing and machine building sectors. The population is about 175 thousand people. Saarbruecken was first mentioned in the donative document of Otton III dated to 999. It appeared as the result of 3 towns unification (Saarbruecken, St Johann and Malstatt-Burbach). More than once during its long existence the city was under the power of France. Among architecture monuments the most interesting are churches Ludwigskirche (Saarbruecken symbol), Stiftskirche St. Arnual and Schlosskirche, Schloss Saarbrücken castle (baroque style) and Schloss Halberg castle.

Climate is temperate. Average temperature is about 9C. Precipitations make 796 mm a year, the most occurs in August. The warmest months are June, July and August, the coldest are winter months.Transport
There is an international tram (Saarbahn) from Saarbruecken to Riegelsberg and Sarreguemines (France). The same train moves around the city.
