SEEBAD HERINGSDORF
Description:
Seebad Heringsdorf is a German coast town in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania land situated on the Usedom Island. It has the population of about 10 thousand people. In 1818 Heringsdorf was just a fishing settlement. From 1825 it started developing as a resort town. There are a lot of interesting museums. For example, Railroad Museum (Eisenbahnmuseum) that is located in the railway station building, or private Shell Museum (Muschelmuseum), or a former hotel (Villa Irmgard) where stayed Russian writer Maxim Gorky which is now a museum devoted to his life and heritage. Sometimes readings and concerts are held there. Also worth mentioning such architectural monuments as moorages Seebrücke Ahlbeck and Seebrücke Heringsdorf, churches Kirche im Walde and Bansiner Waldkirche.
