Description:

Titisee-Neustadt is a German resort town situated in the Baden-Württemberg land with the population of about 11 thousand people. Titisee-Neustadt is a famous center of winter kinds of sport. Town extends along the northern coast of Titisee Lake in the Schwarzwald Mountains. Titisee-Neustadt was found by Fürstenberg princes in 1250. The initial name of the town is „Nova Civitas”, in 1324 it was renamed in Neuwenstadt, in 1335 in Neuwen-statt, in 1630 in Neostadium, in 1650 in New-Statt and eventually in Neustadt. The town lies on the Uhrenstraße road (tourist route from Schwarzwald to Baar). Among attractions are Hochfirstschanze (the biggest nature trench in Germany), Hochfirstturm Tower, Gutachtalbrücke Bridge and Klösterle monastery.

Climate

Climate is a mixture of maritime and continental types. Western winds are frequent (this is the influence of oceanic climate). Titisee-Neustadt area is one of the warmest in the whole Germany. Average year temperature is 11C. Precipitations make 900 mm a year.

Titisee-Neustadt has 2 railway stations: Bahnhof Neustadt im Schwarzwald (also has a bus terminal) and Bahnhof Titisee. The nearest airports are Flughafen Basel Mulhouse Freiburg (90 km), Flughafen Zürich (90 km), Flughafen Friedrichshafen (125 km), Flughafen Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden (130 km) and Flughafen Stuttgart.
