WURZBURG

Description:

Würzburg is located in the northwest of Bavaria, on the river Main. It is a small, but a very beautiful city with the population about 150 thousand people. There is a big variety of sights which will be pleasant to the eye of the most pretentious tourist. Among them there is a magnificent fortress of Marienberg on the Main, the residence of the archbishop in style of the South European baroque, and many other beautiful buildings. In Würzburg Walter von Fogelveide is buried; he is a minnesinger, who has made the invaluable contribution to development of German poetry. And magnificent Franconian vines you can try at small restaurants on the Main embankment, will leave nobody indifferent.

Climate is mild, temperate. Average temperature in summer is about 20 degrees, in winter - about 2 Celsius degrees.

Transport

A nearest international airport is in Frankfurt am Main, in an hour it is possible to reach it from the airports of Stuttgart and Nuremberg. The nearest domestic airport is located in Gibelstadt. On the river Main there is a large river port. Through Würzburg station high-speed trains (ICE) ply, and also highways А1, А7 and А81 pass.
