Together with Bremerhaven (the Bremen city-port on the river Weser) Bremen makes one federal land. On a municipal arm the key is represented - as Germans speak, "Hamburg is a gate in the world, but a key from them is in Bremen". One more symbol of a city is the statue of Roland standing in the centre of a market square. This statue personifies independence of a city - there is a legend that the city keeps independence while it is protected by Roland. On a market square is placed the monument to the Bremen musicians - to the heroes of the fairy tale of brothers Grimm well-known for the whole world. Bremen is also well-known for the university and science centre under the name "Universum" - in this unique science museum the visitor can test itself in operation about 250 exhibits.
