Description:
Chemnitz is a German city in the Saxony land in the Ore Mountains region. The name of the city comes from the river Chemnitz, in translation from Serbian it means “stony stream”. Chemnitz was found in XII century by Lothair II. While staying here don’t miss to taste local dish Quarkkäulchen – Saxony curd pancakes and traditional Christmas bakings Christstollen. The city symbol is the monument to Karl Marx erected in 1971. While walking around Chemnitz you will definitely see the medieval tower of XII-XIII centuries (Der Rote Turm).
