Duisburg is situated in the western part of Germany in the North Rhine-Westphalia land in the place where Ruhr River flows into Rhine. Duisburg is home to one of the biggest European river ports. City symbol is the fountain Lebensretter, it represents the huge 7 meters high bird. By the way, Duisburg is also home to the biggest mosque in Europe.

Driving a car you can reach the city by Bundesautobahn A 3 (Europastraße E 35). You can get around the city by metro or by tram.
