Description:

Regensburg is the fourth largest city in Bavaria. The population is about 150 000 inhabitants. Regensburg is the administrative centre of Upper Palatinate which is situated on the most northern point of Danube. Many buildings of the Roman period and medieval old city buildings are well preserved till now: the Stone Bridge, Reichstag, St. Peter%27s cathedral … It makes Regensburg the one of the most popular points of a tourist route in Germany. Since July, 2006 area Stadtamhof in particular and the Old city of Regensburg as a whole have been recognized as an object of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Climate

It’s cool and windy – the city is situated on the river bank. The average temperature of summer is about 15 degrees.

Transport

The railway station Regensburg Hauptbahnhof is near the Old city. It is serviced by passenger and fast trains. Duration of a journey from Munich is about one and a half hours.
