Description:

Benitses is a very old traditional fishing village on the Corfu Island. It is situated in the green valley on the sea cost. Mild climate and nature beauties have been attracted tourists from the beginning of XX century, but in spite of the great number of visitors Benitses succeeded in preserving its distinctive character and charm of a small Greek village. Various tavernas offer traditional food and amazing seafood dishes. One of the main attractions of Benitses is the Shell Museum. Its collection is considered to be the biggest of its kind in the whole Europe. There you can see not only curious shells and corals but also even shark jaws and more. Comparing to other Corfu resorts Benitsus is quite calm and really relaxing place. Beach here is not very big but you will always find place where to put your towel.

Climate

Climate is Mediterranean, very comfortable. Winter is mild, nearly without rain. Summer is dry and moderately hot. Tourist season lasts from May to October. The sun shines almost the whole year.

Transport

From Corfu Town and airport (12 km) to Benitses run some buses.
