Plakias is a small village on the Crete southern coast surrounded by mountains. It is ideal for measured holidays. Beaches here are not only beautiful and clean, but also very safe (it should be mentioned that some of these beaches are used by nudists). The resort itself is very calm and quiet. Plakias has a good location relatively to some interesting attractions of the Crete. It is easy to reach thousand-year mountain villages Myrthios and Sellia, Preveli monastery is only 8 km away. Plakias Youth Hostel situated in the olive grove not far from the village also can be considered as a landmark – it is the most southern European hostel. In addition, behind the hostel there is the most southern European library. Also there are world known café Nufaro and traditional taverna Niko’s Souvaki.

From Plakias to Rethymno it is only 30 km, to Iraklion – 100 km. Plakias has convenient bus connection with several Crete towns and villages. Also you can explore surroundings by car, motorbike or a bicycle. The biggest international airport of the island is situated in the Iraklion. You can reach Crete by ferry from mainland Greece, some islands and several European countries.
