ABANO TERME

Description:

Abano Terme is one of the oldest spa locations in Europe that is situated in the region of Veneto. Abano Terme is divided in two parts: tourist and historical one. The historical part is famous for its ancient San Lorenzo Cathedral. The tourist part is full of parks, footpaths that go from the central square Piazza Fontana to Montirone garden. Montirone garden has a exhibition of paintings, mainly Venetian. Also this part of Abano Terme houses the thermal stations and different sport and spa-objects. In Abano Terme you can play golf, do fitness, walk around the pine forests and take a thermal bath.

Climate

Abano Terme has a weather different from typical Italian one: it is transitive from continental to Mediterranean, so it is milder and more humid. In winter it snow sometimes.

The closest airports are Marco Polo next to Venice, Valerio Catullo in Verona and Sant%27Angelo near Treviso. You can get to Abano Terme by train (Terme Euganee railway station) or by bus from Padua.
