Description:

Amalfi is a resort in Campania, that gave name to the Amalfi coast. This region is known for natural beauty, mix of sea, mountains and beautiful medieval houses, located on the slopes. Amalfi was founded by the Romans to become one of four Italian marine republics later. Today the main sight of Amalfi is its Cathedral of Saint Andrew in Arab-Sicilian style, with mosaics anjd other decorations. Also Amalfi has a city museum, where you can see "Tavole Rotonde" - the first marine code invented here fr the first time. Besides rich cultural side, Amalfi is rich of beaches and warm azure sea. Amalfi coast was declared a part of the UNESCO world heritage.

Amalfi has a typical mediterranean weather with hot dry summers, rainy mild winters. In summers sea breeze cools the air making your stay in this city even more exciting.

Transport

Amalfi is a part of the Amalfi coats, so you can easy get to other beautiful places of the region: Ravello, Paestrum, Naples, the islands of Capri and Ischia, Sorrento as weel as Pompei and Haerculanum. The closest airport is located in Naples. From Naples to Amalfi you can get by bus if ferry, that also go from Sorrento and Salerno.
