AREZZO

Description:

Arezzo is a city in Toscana and the capital of the same name province. Arezzo was found before Etruscan times but fame and grandeur it gained exactly under the sway of Etruscans being one of the biggest cities of this people. Chimera sculpture and Poggio Sole necropolis are evidence of great Etruscan period of city history. After was Roman period when Arezzo was named Arretium. Arezzo has numerous monuments of Roman epoch and even more medieval and modern sights. City holds various colorful celebrations, for example San Donato Day (7th of August), historic festivals Giostra del Saracino (June and September) and more. Visit one of the museums of Arezzo, for example Vasari House or Arezzo Archeological Museum.

Arezzo climate is continental because city is far from sea and close to mountains. Winter experiences some snow, temperatures are unstable (air from the Atlantic and North often bursts through).
