ARZACHENA

Description:

Arzachena is a resort, located to the North-East of Sardinia, in the historical region of Gallura. The zone includes a 80-km long with natural grottoes, bays and beaches. The coast is named "La Costa Smeralda". Many ancient fortified houses called nuraghe can be easily reached from Arzachena. Besides these typical Sardinian buildngs, one you can see some other archaeological monuments next to the resort: Li Muri necropolis, the tomb of giants Coddu Vecchiu etc. Arzachena houses many folk concerts where you can listen to some traditional Sardinian folklore as well as visit Porto Cervo - the center of Costa Smeralda that demonstrates all architectural peculiarities of Gallura.

Climate

Arzachena%27s weather is a typical mediterranean one due to maritime position of the city. In winter the temperatures are around +10, in summers +25. The climare of Sardinia is very comfortable for recreation.

Transport

All Arzachena%27s communications are related with Olbia with the closest airport Costa Smeralda located 30 km. from Arzachena. To Olbia you can come from Lazio, Genoa, Piombino, Livorno by ferry. Also Olbia has a railway station that connects the city with Sassari. From Olbia to Arzachena a train goes (28 km).
