Bologna is the capital of Emilia-Romagna, as well as the university capital of Italy, "wise", as Italians called it. This city is famous for its large historical center, the oldest university in the world, towers, tiled roofs, cuisine, porticoes, student life. Bologna is very beautiful from architectural point of view: the central square s dominated by the basilica di San Petronio, la fontana del Nettuno, il palazzo Podesta...No doubt, the two towers, built in the Medieval times, present a symbol of the city. Their height is 97 and 47 meters. The length of porticoes - arcaded streets - is around 38 km. When it rains one can cross the whole city and remain dry. Bologna is not by chance called "wise" - many of the greatest masters of arts worked here - Michelangelo, Giotto, da Vinci, Galvani, Marconi. This city possesses its own spirit in which long history, beautiful architecture and high importance that Italians attach to Bologna have been mixed.

Bologna lies in the zone of continental climate. Sea influence is modest here. Summers are usually hot, stuffy because of high humidity in the air. Winters are cold and humid. Winds are not often here that favors mists appearance.Transport
Bologna has its own Guglielmo Marconi international airport. One can get there by bus "Aerobus" that goes from the railway station. Also you can get to the city by train. Bologna, due to its central position, presents an important transport center of Northern Italy. One can quickly get to Venice, Milan, Florence and Rome from Bologna.
