Description:
Cervia is a city in the region of Emilia-Romagna, the city of fishermen and saltwarks. Cervia, besides having an interesting cultural heritage, disposes of great natural resources - perfect beaches, sea and a secular pine forest, that grows next to the city. In the center of Cervia rises so-called Borgo dei Pescatori, or Quarter of Fishermen, and Borgo di Salinari, or Quarter of Saltworks. The history of Cervia is directly related with the production of salt. In the ancient saltern of Salina Camillone it is extracted with a traditional method. The center also has a high San Michele tower, built in 1691m that has already become a symbol of Cervia. Not far from the city another interesting place is located: Milano-Marittima - a park of entertainments, the biggest on the coast of Emilia-Romagna. In suburb of Cervia you can find some thermal springs of Terme. In general, Cervia with the suburbs is a very comfortable place for recreationg and tourism.
Climate
Cervia lies in a zone of semi-continental climate wuth hot, dry summers and cold, rainy winters. In winter and autumn mists and thunders are not rare.Transport
The closest airports are Federico Fellini next to Rimini and the airport of Forli. Cervia has its own railway station, while along the coast you can move with a bus, reaching Ravenna and Cesenatico. The historical center is small, so you can more aroung the city by walk.
