Description:

Cortina d%27Ampezzo is a town in Belluno province in Veneto region. Cortina forms the largest commune in Ladinia (historic region). In 1956 it held Winter Olympic Games being recognized center of interntiona tourism. The major part of the population speak ladino (mixture of Italian, German and Slovenian languages). Local cuisine is similar to Austrian, it continues Tirol traditions therefore dishes have German names. Cortina d%27Ampezzo holds different sport competitions and offers great opportunities for practicing winter sports.

Cortina d%27Ampezzo climate is a mixture of oceanic and continental. Summer is cool and short, winter is long and cold.
