FORTE DEI MARMI

Description:

Forte dei Marmi is a town in the Lukka province in Toscana in Tirren Sea. Its name is decoded in the following way: “forte” comes from small castle in the center of the town, “Marmi” comes from marble that was transported from Alpi Apuane via Forte dei Marmi port. 300 m from the coast there is a pier where ferries from Chincue Terre moor to. Forte dei Marmi has a district “Roma Imperiale” with luxurious villas that are real masterpieces. The city holds its own carnival and festival Palio, however the main attraction are still resort beaches. Famous singer Mina comes from Forte di Marmi.

Climate

Forte dei Marmi climate is Mediterranean with hot summer and mild rainy winter. Snow and frost are uncommon.

Transport

The nearest airport is Aeroporto Internazionale di Pisa, you can het there by bus, car or train. Forte dei Marmi has its own railway station.
