GARDA

Description:

Garda is a town in Verona province in Veneto region situated on the shore of the same name lake. Garda is reach in historic villas (Palazzo dei Capitani, Villa degli Albertini and more). Not far from the city center rises above Rocca, castle of Lombardi times. From the north Garda Bay is covered by Punta San Vigilio peninsula that has small church, old hotel, portico and Siren Bay. This small and lovely homestead was favorite holiday place for Alexander I, Winston Churchill, and Prince Charles. In July Garda holds Premio Riviera Laurence Olivier e Vivien Leigh celebration. This island of peace and elegance won’t leave you indifferent.

Climate

Climate is Mediterranean because of lake influence and special landscape. Summer is hot (+24C) and winter is cool (+1C). Humidity is heightened the whole year round, especially in winter which provides frequent mists.

Transport

The nearest airports are Catullo di Verona, Marco Polo, Milano Linate and Bolzano airport. From the station along the lake shore run several buses.
