GUBBIO

Description:

Gubbio is a town in the Perugia province in Umbria. It used to be a city of Umbri and was important point on the rout from the Adriatic to Terrent Sea. From this period Gubbio inherited Iguvine Tablets, copper boards with ancient writings. Gubbio is also considered to be the second city of St. Francis of Assisi, he found shelter here after leaving Assisi. Unusual architecture of the city sustained in one style delights people today. This is Palazzio dei Consoli and Palazio Pretorio, Duke Palace and religious architecture. Also you can see Ancient Roman structures (theatre, tombs). Gubbio regularly holds various celebrations and events.
