MALCESINE
Description:
Malcesine is a town on the eastern coast of the Garda lake in Veneto, Italia. Being one of the most beautiful places in Italy, Malcesine was a favourite place of Goethe, Klimt and Kafka. The unique panorama of Malcesine is formed by the natural beauty of the Garda lake and by the Castello-Scaligero of 13 century. The castle was founded by the Langobards in the Middle ages, though later it was destroyed and rebuilt again by the famous Italian family La Scala. Of other architectural monuments, it%27s worth mentioning the Palazzo di Capitani in Malcesine%27s harbour, that today houses the town%27s council, and also the church Santa Maria della Fontana of 17 century.

Malcesine%27s weather is continental, however the Garda lake, located near the town, influences the climate. Summers are hot (+24), winters are cold (+1), while humidity is high during the year, especially in winters and this favors appearance of fogs.Transport
The closest airports are located in Brescia and Verona. Malcesine does not have any railway station, though there are two in Peschiera del Garda and Verona (Verona Porta Nuova). From the stations to Malcesine every half an hour a bus goes, the tickets can be bought in bars near the stations. Also the ferries, that circulate through the lake, enter the harbor of Malcesine. It takes about 2 hours to get to Verona from Malcesine. There is a cable way in Malcesine that connects the lowest part of the town with the top of the hill.
