Description:

Mestre is a city located near Venice. On the central square Erminio Ferreto there are the main monuments of Mestre: the cathedral of San Lorenzo, royal palace and watch tower. Recently the city has undergone a total transformation - today it is a modern place with high buildings and other infrastructure. There is a big park Bosco di Mestre, that is a modern project of park consisting of separated parts, connected with each other with bikeways and footways. Also Mestre is very close to Venice - it takes 10 minutes to arrive in Venice by bus, so Mestre is popular among tourists that do not want to live in overcrowded and expensive Venice.

Climate

The weather in Mestre differs from tipical Italian pattern: it%27s transitive from continental to Mediterranean climate, so it is milder and more humid. In winter it snows sometimes.

Transport

In 10 minutes from Mestre there is the Marco Polo airport, a bit further - the airport of Treviso. Mestre has its own railway station and other public transport.
