NOTO

Description:

Noto is a city in the Syracuse province in Sicily. It was found in 5 century BC and in 1693 it was entirely destroyed by earthquake and restored again. City center was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2002. During the construction of Noto buildings local golden-pink stone was used, in the city you can see wide stairs that smooth over relief roughness. The main cathedral Chiesa madre San Nicolò is a building in baroque style with unbelievable beauty. There are plenty of religious buildings and palaces, also you can discover Ancient Noto remains.

Climate

Noto is situated in the Mediterranean climate zone. Summer is dry and hot but air is cooled by African sirocco. Winter is mild and rainy. In general temperatures are temperate and climate is favorable for rest and living.

Transport

The nearest airport is near Catnha city, not very far. Also you can reach Noto by train as it has its own railway station.
