RAPALLO

Description:

Rapallo is a city in the Liguria region in Italy, 32 km from Genoa. Rapallo dates back to 700 BC, it is proved by several ancient findings on its territory (for example, tombs). Medieval buildings strikes by its grandeur (for example, Valle Christi monastery of XII century in Gothic style or St Stephan church in the center of the city). Because of frequent pirates attacks Ravello was strengthened by castles from the water side, it still exist (Castello cinquecentesco is situated on the beach, Castello di Punta Pagana guards the bay). Rapello holds various events from International Comics Festival to numerous Saints’ days. Fine Ligurian cuisine deserves particular attention.

Climate

Rapelo climate is Mediterranean with favorable temperatures. The coldest month is January (+8C). Winter is mild and rainy, summer is hot and humid, air is chilled by sea breeze.

Transport

Rapallo is situated on the Pisa-La Spezia-Genova railroad line so you can reach it from any part of Italy. The nearest airport is in Genoa. Cable road connects Rapallo with Pisa-La Spezia-Genova sanctuary. In summer Rapallo port offers tours to Chincue Terre and other tourist places.
