RIVA

Description:

Riva is a small town on the north of Garda Lake in the Trentino-Alto Adige region, Italy. It started developing as a resort in the second part of XIX century when German tourists came here. The town was visited by Thomas Mann and Nietzsche. Not far from Riva there are picturesque lakes Tenno and Ledro. This resort has architectural treasures as well, fro example Pretoriu Palace, La Rocca (castle of XII century surrounded by moat with the bridge), Venice bastion on the hill slope and more. Riva holds various festivals like Riva Musical Festival, International Competition of Young Performers, Jazz festival and Choir Competitions.

Climate

Climate in Riva is continental with the influence of Garda Lake. Summer is hot (no less than +24C) and winter is cool (about +1C). Humidity is heightened during the whole year, this leads to frequent mists.

The nearest airports are Gabriele D’Annunzio (76 км.), Catullo in Verona (91 км.), Bolchano airport (104 км.), Orio al Serio in Bergamo (130 км). The nearest railway station is in Rovereto 20 km away from Riva, you can reach it by bus.
