Description:

Salsomaggiore Terme is a town in the Parma province in Emilia-Romagna famous for its termal springs. Celts and Romans already knew about healing properties of this water but officially it was proved only in 1839 by medics. Salsomaggiore Terme has interesting architecture, the most outstanding examples are Congress Palace and thermae building Lorenzo Berzieri in the Liberty and Deco style. Every year the town holds the final of Miss Italy competition and international pizza championship. In the Lorenzo Berzieri surroundings there are numerous castles and palaces, this is a very historic place.

Climate

Lorenzo Berzieri is situated in the continental climate zone. Influence of the sea is limited. Summer is usually hot and stuffy because of high humidity. Winter is cold and humid. Mists are common because of rare winds.

Transport

Parma airport Giuseppe Verdi is 30 km away from Salsomaggiore Terme. The town has its own railway station so you can reach any part of Italy by train. Bus network in the town is well developed.
